A barn owl which escaped from London Zoo was found dead on Sunday in the visitor’s car park.
The male bird flew away from a “routine training exercise” on Thursday, after being startled by an unidentified loud noise from outside the zoo.
It was found in the early hours of Sunday morning by a keeper.
A spokeswoman said a post-mortem will be carried out by the zoo’s vets to establish cause of death.
