LEARNING to cook wild foods and how to compost effectively are just some of the environmentally friendly lessons available during Belsize Eco Week next month.

From September 22 to 26, a huge range of events will be staged to celebrate being green, including films every night at St Stephen's Church, Hampstead Town Hall and the Everyman Belsize Park.

The week will culminate with a green fair on Saturday 26 on Haverstock Hill, where there will be food and drink including pizza from a handmade cob oven, and an interactive map that shows where to find fruit trees in Belsize.

There will also be farmyard animals, a bike-repair workshop, herbal and healing remedies, storytelling, foraging on Hampstead Heath and a beekeeping demonstration.
