Hampstead Heath charity Heath Hands are to hold the first Community Heath Festival on Sunday, July 1.
The extravaganza will feature face-painting, henna, South Asian dancing with Akademi, live music and traditional crafts. Starting at 1pm, it will be held at Parliament Hill Bandstand throughout the afternoon with a packed programme of events.
There will also be a Zumba taster session for those keen to try dancing.
Advertised as a family friendly event, this festival forms part of the charity’s Community Heath project and the organisers have stressed that everyone is welcome to attend.
The Community Heath initiative supports people and groups who need support to get involved in sport, volunteering and other activities which take place in and around Hampstead Heath.
Colin Houston, Heath Hands’s Projects and Volunteer Manager told Heathwatch: “It will be a chance for to welcome everyone, and for the local community to get involved and get to know one another.”
