Garden-lovers were treated to a special viewing of a set of gardens usually closed to the public at a horticultural extravaganza in Hampstead Garden Suburb on Sunday.
The suburb’s Horticultural Society Open Afternoon saw 15 suburb gardens open for visitors.
Held in aid of the North London Hospice and the HGS Horticultural Society, the event raised £1,200 to be split between the charities. Visitors enjoyed a rose exhibition and plant sale in Fellowship House.
Marjorie Harris, from the society, and whose own open garden welcomed over 100 visitors, said the afternoon gave people a chance to “see what was behind the hedges.”
Held once every two years, inspired attendees of the event may see their own garden on display next time.
