An elderly man was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after he was hit by a van in Camden High Street this afternoon.

Roads are gridlocked following the incident just after 3pm near the junctions with Delancey Street and Kentish Town Road.

Police have cordoned off a section of the four-lane high street. A white van is within the cordoned off area.

The man, thought to be in his 70s, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington with a foot and leg injury.

A police spokeswoman said: “Road closures are still in place. The incident is ongoing.”

Updates to follow.
