A proposal to demolish a Highgate home in a conservation area leaving only its Edwardian front has been submitted to Haringey Council.
The end of terrace house in Archway Road would be knocked down to make way for a replica building, divided into one three-bedroom and two two-bedroom flats. The front of the house will be kept in place if the plans are approved by a council committee.
The home would be rebuilt in an Edwardian style and a basement would be created.
A conservation officer said the partial demolition was “not ideal” but as the re-built home will be in keeping with the character and appearance of the conservation area, no objections were made.
