The opening of Highgate Primary School’s new outside stage has been christened with a show-stopping performance of Joseph by Year 6 students.

Last week the performing arts stage – which will also be used by partners Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children for productions and concerts – was officially opened, with a host of supporters turning out to see the finished product.

The school has been inundated with support for the stage, which was designed by parent and Forum Landscape architect Lucy Jenkin, while Bellway Homes donated the building materials and the £80,000 worth of construction costs was made up by parents and foundations, as well as through charity events.

Headteacher William Dean said: “The outside stage has transformed our playground, providing not only a performance space but a place for the community to come together and enjoy in so many different ways.”
