The headteacher of William Ellis school, Sam White, was full of praise for his students today after a promising set of GCSE results.

67 percent of boys achieved at least five A* to C grades, with 26 boys scoring at least five A* or A’s.

“Congratulations to our students and teachers,” said Mr White.

“We are delighted with these results. The boys prepared well and they were exemplary throughout the exams. I was particularly struck by the way that they supported each other and their good humour. Thank you to the parents, staff, trustees and governors who have given such great support to help secure this success for our students.”

37pc of students achieved the English Baccalaureate, meaning they achieved A* to C’s in English, maths, two sciences, a foreign language and either history of geography.
