Pupils as young as 10 cooked up a storm as they hosted a pop-up restaurant at their Montessori school.
An ambitious menu of salmon cerviche, pork belly and crackling, and grilled cod served with quinoa were among fine dining dishes presented to parents of children who attend the Rainbow Montessori Junior School in Woodchurch Road, West Hampstead.
Year 6 pupils aged 10 and 11 spent weeks choosing a three-course menu and practising their cookery skills before putting on a one-off restaurant experience on Friday night for parents.
Under the supervision of food technology teacher Hiroe Fujimoto, half of the pupils cooked the food while the others provided silver service.
Mother of the school’s late founder Rita Groomb, who helps out at the school, said: “They were fantastic, and they really loved it.”
