Excited schoolboy winners of a fantasy football league were rewarded with the chance to pose with the real Premier League trophy.
Pupils at University College School’s (UCS) Junior Branch, in Holly Hill, Hampstead, could view the silver trophy and have their photos taken with it – although two burly bodyguards forbid anyone to touch it.
It was unveiled on Wednesday last week at an assembly to reveal the winners of the school’s fantasy football league, but all 220 boys were allowed to get a closer look at one of football’s highest prizes.
Barclays bank, which sponsors the premier league, had invited a parent at the school to have the trophy brought in to show the pupils.
