A NEW headteacher has been chosen for debt-ridden William Ellis secondary school.
The Highgate Road school is hoping to put its financial troubles behind it with the appointment of Robbie Cathcart, the current deputy head at Loxford School of Science and Technology in Ilford.
The Essex school was rated "outstanding" by Ofsted inspectors last year.
William Ellis governor Fiona Millar said: "He has a very strong track record at his current school, including in financial management.
