University College School was today celebrating the second best set of GCSE results in its history, with a remarkable 88.6 percent of exams achieving either an A* or A grade.
Of the 118 students at the school, 65 achieved nothing below an A grade, with 21 boys scoring at least ten A*s. Every exam was graded between A* and C, making it a fantastic day for the school.
And headmaster Mark Beard reflected on the journey he and the students had been through for these results.
“These boys all started in year 9 at the same time I started UCS, so it has been particularly interesting to see them flourish over the last three years, culminating in a really splendid set of results,” he said.
“They are a talented year in so many ways outside of the classroom, in Rugby, Drama and Music especially, so their academic efforts are very well-deserved.”
