Teachers have conquered hilly Hampstead Heath to raise more than £1,600 for a cancer charity.
Nicknamed the St Anthony’s Striders, a team of eight teachers and support staff from St Anthony’s School in Fitzjohn’s Avenue, Hampstead, ran 5km across the Heath’s rugged terrain in the annual Race for Life on Saturday for Cancer Research UK.
School bursar Sarah Anderson, who was one of the runners, said parents and colleagues were out in full force to support the amateur athletes.
“It was a very lovely event,” she said. “We ran every step of the way, so we’re really chuffed.”
