Primary school leavers said goodbye to teachers and fellow pupils with an operatic performance to remember.
Year 6 pupils at St Aloysius’ Catholic Junior School performed Love You To Death, an opera they wrote and produced, to parents and pupils at the school, in Aldenham Street, Somers Town, earlier this month.
The students, who move on to secondary school in September, were divided into a production team – responsible for marketing, ticketing, costume and set design – and a performance team for the project.
Headteacher Jim O’Shea said: “It’s worked extremely well in terms of giving them responsibility for their work.
“What was incredible was the pupils’ characterisation – how realistic their parts were. It was a way of celebrating their creative talents.”
