Students from Portland Place School have demonstrated their support for anti-bullying by winning first place in the ‘odd socks day challenge’.
The pupils were invited to don their best odd socks to school, encouraging them to embrace being unique. The day was then captured in an image and submitted as a competition entry on Twitter.
The winners were selected by presenter Andy Day who based his judgement on the most creative submission.
All 30 pupils in the Year 7 group who took part in the nationwide initiative will now celebrate their efforts with a special performance from Andy and his band, followed by a workshop on anti-bullying.
Headteacher David Bradbury said: “We are immensely proud of our Year 7s for pulling out all the stops and winning this nationwide competition. The classrooms were awash with colour and all for a great cause as the pupils admirably supported this anti-bullying campaign.”
