A school slammed by education watchdog Ofsted more than two years ago has been visited by inspectors again this week.
Acland Burghley School, in Burghley Road, Tufnell Park, was heavily criticised for poor pupil behaviour, low grades, and “scruffy” teachers, and was rated “requires improvement” in reports published in 2013 and 2014.
It prompted the resignation of its former headteacher, Jo Armitage, who stepped down in 2014.
But current leader Nicholas John suggested that the school is awaiting more positive feedback after inspectors re-visited the school on Tuesday and Wednesday to carry out an assessment.
But he also hinted that the school was told it still needs to make some improvements.

In a statement on the school’s website, he wrote: “Inspectors made judgements about the current quality of provision which will be published at the end of the month. The school is not permitted to share the findings at this stage.
“I can confirm that the school is in agreement with the provisional judgements made.

“We are confident that the report will support us to address the areas for development which are well known to the school, and to make further rapid and sustainable progress in the future.”
An interim report published at the end of 2014 said the school had undergone a “transformation” since receiving the second-lowest rating from Ofsted, and was making rapid improvements.
It has not been re-visited by inspectors since then.
The Ofsted report is due to be published by the end of the month.
