Primary school pupils held a rally to raise awareness of children around the world who do not have access to education.
Year 5 pupils from Netley Primary School gathered in Regent’s Place, off Euston Road, Euston, last Thursday brandishing banners in support of the Every Childs needs a Teacher campaign.
The global campaign demands governments around the world recognise the need for more teachers in developing countries and do more to tackle the problem, which has resulted in around 61million children currently not attending primary school.
Pupils from Netley Primary, in Netley Street, Euston, have been learning about the millennium development goals – eight targets set in 2000 by world leaders to eradicate global poverty and human suffering and achieve universal primary education.
