A Year 8 had his leadership skills tested after winning a competition to be Highgate School’s headteacher for the day.
Joe Lever’s day involved giving staff briefings, observing lessons and even having lunch on the staff table alongside fellow teachers.
To mirror Joe’s experience, headteacher Adam Pettitt became a pupil for the day and even donned a school uniform.
Joe said: “This was an eye-opening experience, as I was able to see behind the scenes of how Highgate is run. I enjoyed meeting teachers, sitting in on my Friday classics lesson and working with the grounds staff.”
Adam Pettitt added: “Joe did an excellent job of assuming my responsibilities for the day, and all of the staff were impressed with his work. I was delighted to see my adopted form, 8D, win the inter-form singing competition under Joe’s leadership.”
