Haverstock School in Chalk Farm has won more praise.
In its latest Ofsted report the secondary school was rated "good" overall and headteacher John Dowd singled out for praise for his "inspirational approach to improvement".
"This report clearly confirms the huge improvements that we have made over the past few years," he said, praising his "very professional and hard-working staff".
Ofsted rated curriculum, teacher leadership and pupil enjoyment as "outstanding", and called on the school to continue improving GCSE standards and establish more consistency in the frequency and quality of marking.
