Parents who take their children out of school for holidays during term time can be fined £60 - and those who don’t pay may find themselves in court.
Government figures show the number of fines issued to parents of primary and secondary pupils is rising in many areas.
But some parents argue the system is inflexible and say schools should have the power to make exceptions where there is a genuine need for a child or teenager to take a day off school.
We would like to hear from parents who have been given penalty notices for taking their child out of school.
