Politically-minded pupils at Channing School in Highgate arranged a visit from MP Lynne Featherstone to learn about life in Westminster.
Sixth formers Emily Mills and Naomi Lane, who launched a new politics society in January, invited Lynne who is the MP for Hornsey and Wood Green and Equalities Minister.
Emily, 17, said: “The most interesting thing was how she didn’t start in politics but actually worked as a designer for 20 years. It just shows that if you have a passion you can do it.”
Naomi, 16, added that it was great to learn about what goes on behind the scenes between the coalition parties.
The MP said she had a great reception and that there is no shortage of girls at the school who want to get involved in politics.
