Overall, 80per cent of students achieved at least five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above and under new measures attainment 8 score is 59.

A school spokesman said; “We are incredibly proud of our students and staff who have worked very hard to achieve these results.”

“Outcomes for student attainment have been particularly impressive this year at Fortismere given the fact that students have faced more challenging courses and final examinations.

“Particularly remarkable is the number of students who have attained the very top grades. Almost one in four grades achieved was either 8, 9, or A* which is a phenomenal achievement. Nearly one in 10 grades achieved was the top grade, 9, which is around 2.5 times higher than national expectations.
