A group of fearless Coleridge Primary School students have taken a public speaking competition by storm.
The team of six won the crown at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire after delivering a speech and answering questions on the subject of Sir Winston Churchill and his achievements.
In doing so, the team beat off competition from some of the most prestigious prep schools in the country and accepted the award from the Duchess of Marlborough.
The Year 6 students were selected after competing in the school’s public speaking tournament, where they researched, planned and delivered a speech on the topic of their choosing. Topics chosen included gender equality, animal welfare, pollution in cities, Brexit and the refugee crisis.
