An educational website teaching thousands of teenagers about the Holocaust has had more than one million unique visitors in three years.
The website, Holocaust Explained, was launched by the London Jewish Cultural Centre (LJCC) in North End Road, Golders Green in January 2011. It has since had 1.3million individual users and attracts about 8,500 visits each week.
The resource, for British students aged between 11 and 16, is updated every month with key events and all the facts pupils need to learn about the Holocaust.
Joanna Millan, a trustee at the LJCC overseeing the work of the Holocaust department, said: “I know from my own experience speaking about the Holocaust at schools throughout Britain and in Northern Ireland and indeed to teachers in China, that the site is a major contributor to Holocaust education.”
