A community-run nursery in Kentish Town has won another prestigious architectural award for its sleek modern building and innovative features for young children.
Montpelier Nursery in Brecknock Road has already won in regional and national categories of the Royal Institute of British Architect’s (RIBA) awards.
And the building scooped one of the highest accolades in architecture at a ceremony last week.
The Stephen Lawrence Prize, named after murdered teenager Stephen Lawrence who aspired to be an architect, recognises the best examples of projects with a construction budget of under £1million nationwide.
The prize was awarded to Kentish Town-based AY Architects, in Highgate Road, for their outstanding use of space and light and for making an exceptional environment for children and staff.
