There have been some busy elves working away in the run up to Christmas at The Cavendish School.

Students at the school have been collecting toys to contribute to Mayor of Camden, Cllr Richard Cotton’s annual toy drive, which provides Christmas cheer for children from across the borough during a stressful time of the year.

Cllr Cotton was on hand to see for himself the mound of toys the conscientious kids had collected earlier this month.

Assistant headteacher Robert Pritchett said: “The pupils really enjoyed seeing the Mayor in his robes and were fascinated by all the functions he attends. The amount of toys received has been overwhelming; we are very grateful to our parents for their involvement in such a worthy charity.”

The visit was organised by the Friends of Cavendish parents association as part of their active involvement in raising funds for Camden charities.
