Schools in Camden will benefit from the appointment of eight extra nurses this year after a multi-million pound investment in children’s health.
The nurses are due to start in schools this summer following a £3.4million pledge from NHS Camden as part of the Every Camden Child project.
Under the plans, schools will receive more support from nurses to manage pupils’ health conditions and there will be increased focus on improving health in schools.
Alongside the nurses’ appointment, NHS Camden has set aside £800,000 to design and build active spaces in schools and community venues with the aim of increasing physical activity among children and young people, especially in particularly inactive, at-risk populations.
