One of those maths wizards is John Kong, whose three A*s and two As will allow him to study maths at Imperial College.

“I had a brilliant experience here at the academy. My maths teacher was fantastic and dedicated to his subject.”

While Lachlan Cotter is “on top of the world” after being accepted at the University of East Anglia to study philosophy and politics after receiving two As and a B.

He said: “I would like to thank the academy for having me – the teaching and dedication that happens at the academy was perfect for me.”

Co-principals Robin Street and Simon McBride said: “We are very proud of our students and staff who have worked tirelessly to achieve these successes.

“We are delighted that as the academy enters its sixth year our A-level results continue to improve year on year, especially at the top grades. We congratulate our students and wish them all the best for the future.”
