Sixth form girls tried their best to capture the hearts of some lucky boys last Thursday lunchtime (January 29), as University College School, Hampstead, held its own version of popular ITV dating show Take Me Out.
Running for a third year, the event raised more than £1,000 for the school’s Community Action Charities.
A panel of dozens of girls tried their hardest to win a date with a select few boys.
Alex Cedar, 17, who runs the event with friend Joshua Browder, said: “A spin-off of the dating show, Take Me Out has now become a yearly event at UCS, raising money for worthy causes nominated by the student body.
“The third chapter saw the Great Hall packed to the rafters with hundreds of teachers and students, and I loved reprising my role as presenter for a third and (sadly) final time.
“We were overwhelmed with demand for tickets and volunteers for male and female contestants.”
Joshua, 18, added: “When my friend Alex and I decided to bring Take Me Out, a popular ITV dating show, to UCS for a third year, we were overwhelmed with demand for tickets and volunteers for male and female contestants.
“In addition to choosing the expansive Great Hall as our venue, we introduced a twist to the show - having the presenter come out as the last boy looking for a date.
“For me, it was particularly exciting not only to raise money for causes that I care about, but also bring the school together. Seeing boys, girls and teachers of all ages laugh together is what makes mimicking an ITV dating show so rewarding.”
