HAMPSTEAD School will have £10,000 to add to its coffers after picking up a prestigious award from Transport for London.
The Westbere Road secondary has won the Sustainable School award and will be putting the money towards new projects. A working party of students and staff carried out a study looking at the ways pupils travel to school, before recommending alternative routes and giving security and safety advice.
The plan has now been accepted by TfL to be held up as an example of best practice.
Hampstead School will put the £10,000 prize towards new secure bicycle storage and a range of other permanent developments.
