Campaigners who want to stop developers selling off a community pub for housing have won a bid to get it listed as an “asset of community value”.

Camden Council accepted an application by drinkers at The Dartmouth Arms pub in Dartmouth Park Road, Dartmouth Park, last week to have it listed.

The status means that the community now has the right to make an offer to buy the pub, known as Labour Party leader Ed Miliband’s local, from current owners Faucet Inn.

It is currently on the market for £1.8million.

The listing does not place any restriction on what the owners can do with the pub, but it could be a factor considered by councillors and council officers when deciding on any future planning application.
