Dynasty star, Stephanie Beacham, has teamed up with Specsavers to raise money for people with hearing difficulties with their Sound Barrier Star awards.
Beacham, who suffers from poor hearing, paid a couple of visits to Specsavers on Edgware Road recently to be fitted with a pair of hearing aids.
The glamorous star of stage and screen has been searching for other people who defy hearing losses to achieve great things to raise awareness of hearing problems.
For every entry to the awards, Specsavers will donate �5 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, their charity for 2009.
Jenny Smith, a trustee of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, said: "We hear some really inspiring stories from the recipients of our hearing dogs and other members of the deaf and hard of hearing community.
"Sound Barrier Stars is a great opportunity to find these unsung heroes."
