Dermot O'Leary launches his first children's book at ZSL London Zoo

X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary celebrated the launch of his new children’s book with an event at ZSL London Zoo last weekend.

The book ‘Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape’ is set in and around the zoo. It tells the story of ninja trained cats, Toto and her brother Silver, who live in a London townhouse. The book is aimed at children aged between 7 and 9. This is the first children’s book he has written.

O’Leary, who lives in North London, appeared at the Zoo’s reptile house on Sunday September 24. It was also announced that he has a new role as ambassador for international conservation charity, the Zoological Society of London (ZSL).

Formed in 1826, ZSL run London Zoo, and animal welfare projects in over 50 countries worldwide.

O’Leary said: “I’ve been a huge fan of ZSL London Zoo for a long time, and I’m so proud to work closely with them to highlight the work they do to protect wildlife.”
