MICHAEL Dawson this week warned his Tottenham team-mates - take nothing for granted.

Spurs rounded off a profitable six days by added a battling Premier League point against Manchester United in Saturday's scoreless draw at the Lane to the three they plundered at West Ham earlier last week.

But Dawson, man of the match against United, believes Spurs are still not out of danger despite climbing to 15th in the table.

"We can't take our foot off the gas," Dawson told Ham&High Sport. "We are not totally clear of the drop zone, it is still very close.

"We have to continue performing like we did against United and keep gathering points. We need to keep climbing up the table - we are taking nothing for granted."

Tottenham entertain Spartak Moscow in their final Uefa Cup group match at the Lane tonight before tackling Newcastle United, who are on the same number of points but one place above them, at St James' Park on Sunday.

The 0-0 draw against the champions made it 17 points from nine league games under Harry Redknapp.

Dawson, who took over the armband when stand-in skipper Jonathan Woodgate departed early with a back injury, also payed tribute to beleaguered goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who pulled off several top saves, including a brilliant last-minute tip over from a Ryan Giggs free-kick.

"It was different class, a great save," said the defender. "It looked like it would creep in and that would have been so disappointing after the effort we put into the game."

Tottenham will be without three of their most influential players - Ledley King, Jermaine Jenas and Woodgate for the visit of the Russian outfit tonight.

Although Woodgate's back injury is not as serious as first feared, he spent Saturday night in hospital and will not be risked.

Jenas has torn a calf muscle and will be out for at least two weeks while King, who has recurring knee problems, will not be risked in cup competitions.

And with Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko both cup tied, Redknapp could pair Tom Huddlestone and Dawson in central defence with Jamie O'Hara and Didier Zokora in midfield.

Redknapp also hinted he may give youngsters John Bostock and Dean Parrett their first starts.
