Comedians have helped a secondary school to raise thousands of pounds at its annual book fair.

David Baddiel, Arabella Weir and David Schneider dropped in to Camden School for Girls in Sandall Road, Camden Town, on Saturday to support its yearly literary festival.

Mr Baddiel, of Hampstead, read from his first children’s book The Parent Agency before Crouch End writer Ms Weir spoke about how she used her own teenage experiences to write her novel The Rise and Rise of Tabitha Baird.

The fair raised more than £3,000 for the school.

Headteacher Elizabeth Kitcatt said: “The atmosphere was wonderful.”
