A cyclist was left fighting for his life following a collision with a car after which the driver failed to stop.
Police were called by paramedics at about 11.35pm on Wednesday to reports of a car colliding with a cyclist on Camden Road at the junction of Royal College Street - opposite Camden Road overground station.
The cyclist, a 47-year-old man, was taken to an east London hospital where he now remains in a critical but stable condition according to police.
The driver failed to stop at the scene whilst the car believed to have been involved has since been recovered near the scene in Kings Terrace, Camden Town.
The roads and transport policing command are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information about the driver is also urged to contact police.
