A CYCLIST was hurt after a collision with a truck in Swiss Cottage.

The 43-year-old rider suffered head and abdominal injuries after being hit by the Sainsbury's delivery lorry in the rush hour last Friday morning.

"The cyclist was crushed between the railings and a heavy goods vehicle. He looked in a bad way," said one witness, a builder who asked not to be named.

The accident happened at the junction of Harley Road and Winchester Road just before 9.30am. It left the bike crushed and the cyclist's clothes torn.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and took the cyclist to the Royal Free, but his injuries were not life threatening. No arrests were made by police.
