A LEAK which appeared in the middle of Crouch End Broadway has finally been fixed after five days.

The leak, opposite Broadway Fruiterers, began gushing with water on Monday afternoon.

Haringey council was so concerned about the water freezing over in below zero temperatures, that they gritted the pavement around the leak, which was splashing over the road and onto the walkways.

A Thames Water spokeswoman said works to repair the leak began on Friday evening, when the water was finally stopped, and continued today (Monday).
