Woman sexually assaulted in Crouch End

HARINGEY police are appealing for witnesses and information following a sexual assault in Crouch End on Sunday morning.

The victim, an 18-year-old woman, was attacked at the junction between Farrer Road and Park Road sometime between 03.45am and 04.30am.

The suspect is believed to have followed the woman from Muswell Hill Broadway and engaged her in conversation before pushing her to the ground and assaulting her. He then fled in the direction of Muswell Hill.

The suspect is described as being a male of Mediterranean appearance, 5ft 8 - 5ft 10, with a stocky build, bald or shaved hair, and wearing a long sleeve shirt and dark trousers.

DC Lucy Bowie of Haringey CID said: “I am grateful to a number of witnesses who have already come forward and appeal for anyone else with information to contact us. I am particularly keen to speak to a member of the public that we understand had been walking down Muswell Hill prior to the assault.”
