A police officer was treated in hospital after being attacked and mauled in the groin by a vicious pitbull type dog in Camden during a drugs raid.

The officer was executing a warrant at an address in Broadfield Lane, Camden, at 7:30am on February 10 when he was attacked by the dog which police dog experts say is a banned bread.

A police spokesman said: β€œ The officer sustained number of puncture wounds to his inner thigh and left forefinger and lacerations to his hand. He was treated at UCH.

β€œThe pitbull type dog was confiscated.”

Following the incident, a 27-year-old woman was issued with a penalty notice for disorder for possession of Cannabis.
