Police stumbled across more than 40 bags of cannabis hidden in different spots along the Regent’s Canal towpath in Camden as part of a pre-festival sweep.
Some 43 bags of herbal cannabis and two wraps of cocaine were found during the search on Wednesday – as part of a preparations for today’s Camden Lock Live event.
Sgt Paul Taylor said the cannabis bags were found in “rubbish hiding places”.
A spokesman for the Met Police said: “On July 8 officers from the Camden Town Centre Team conducted a drug sweep in preparation for Camden Live to be held on the 10th July.
“Secreted in numerous locations along the Canal Towpath , Officers found a total of 43 self seal bags of herbal cannabis. The source as yet is unknown, extensive enquiries progressing.”
