A large police squad was called to a historic Hampstead pub after a group of drinkers refused to leave at closing time.
About 20 officers in two vans and several cars descended on the Holly Bush in Hollymount at about 11.40pm yesterday.
Police said about 15 people were refusing to leave until officers arrived, after which they went home without incident.
Sheila MacLeod, who lives nearby in Holly Bush Hill, said: “They were about 20 officers, they probably matched [the drinkers] man for man.
“The officers have done a good job, they obviously calmed it down.”
