Police are asking residents to keep an eye out for six chickens after they were stolen from the Hampstead area.

Two crates of Bantam chickens were taken from the boot of a car in Downshire Hill on Thursday night.

Police say the poultry thief also stole photographic equipment.

PC Nick Dayton, officer for Hampstead Town, asked residents to keep an eye out for the chickens, tweeting: “Please keep eyes & ears open for x6 chickens stolen yesterday in NW3, x3 brown, x2 black & 1 black & white. All Bantams.”

Police say the theft took place at about 9.17pm and ask anyone with any information to call 101.
