A man had his £25,000 Rolex stolen by moped thieves in a “horrifying” knifepoint robbery in St John’s Wood High Street.

The 64-year-old was left “angered and shaken” by the attack and had to be taken to hospital with injuries to his arm, leg and face.

Officers have released grainy phone footage of the mugging but believe there is more to be found, and have urged people to come forward.

The man was walking along the street at 7.45pm on September 7, a Friday night, when he was threatened at knifepoint by two thugs on a grey and white moped.

They stole his luxury watch and drove off. Police think people were filming it on their phones.

Det Con James Drummond from Westminster CID said: “This was a horrifying ordeal for a man just out enjoying a summer evening.

“He was confronted by masked men brandishing a large knife and they have forcibly removed his watch.

“They appear to have singled him out and deliberately targeted him for this watch and we need to catch them before they target anyone else.

“The street was busy with traffic and pedestrians and I would appeal to anyone who filmed this incident or took photos to contact police.”

Anyone with information or footage concerning this robbery attack is requested to call 101 quoting CAD 6669 of September 7.
