A man has been sectioned after he began masturbating in front of passing cars and police officers in Camden Town.
The 50-year-old was found by police in Albany Street in the early hours of Friday (February 6) intoxicated and with his trousers round his ankles.
Officers say they asked the man to pull up his trousers “on several occasions” but he instead began to masturbate in full view of passing cars.
He was arrested for outraging public decency and later taken to a mental health unit.
A spokesman for the police said: “On Friday, 6 February at approximately 05:35hrs, a 50-year-old man was arrested for outraging public decency in Albany Street, NW1.
“Police found the man drunk and with his trousers round his ankles. Officers asked the man to pull up his trousers on several occasions but instead he began to masturbate in full view of passing cars.
“He was taken to a north London police station where he was conveyed to a secure Mental Health unit under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act.”
