A 34-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of his estranged wife outside a Hampstead cafe.
Ibrahim Akyol, who currently lives in Ilford but works as a barber in Finchley, was arrested after the car he was allegedly driving hit his estranged wife in South End Green on Wednesday (March 14).
The court heard the woman was on the pavement outside Zamazingo cafe on her way to work in a restaurant at the time.
Akyol, who spoke through a Turkish interpreter, appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrate’s Court today (Friday, March 16).
He was remanded in custody to stand trial at Blackfriars Crown Court in May.
