A Camden man has died in hospital days after being hit by a stolen car on Leighton Road in Kentish Town.
Police have named the 77 year-old victim, Richard Dougherty, who died on Tuesday September 4.
Shortly before 2.35am last Thursday he was hit by a speeding Nissan Primera at around 2am. The car then careered into a wall and the driver and passengers fled the scene.
Police want to speak to Alistair McWilliams, 32, about the incident, while three unidentified teenagers.
Detective Sergeant Cheryl Frost said: “Sadly, the victim of this selfish crime has passed away and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
“We are continuing our search to find Alistair McWilliams and would like to hear from anyone who knows of his whereabouts.” “Any information, no matter how big or small, will help us to take this very selfish and dangerous man off the streets.”
