Police chiefs have revealed that just three people have used the new police contact point in Hampstead since it was set up earlier this month.

The long-awaited drop-in centre was launched on February 27 at Old Hampstead Town Hall, in Haverstock Hill, some nine months after it was first promised following the closure of century-old Hampstead police station last June.

The police hope it will be better used as residents become “more aware of its opening”.

The contact point is open on Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 8pm and on Saturday afternoons from 2 to 3pm.
