Squatters who took over Hampstead’s former police station have been handed an eviction notice following a court hearing this morning.

It took district judge Charlotte Hart just 20 minutes to order the eviction of 15 squatters living in the station’s annexe, in Rosslyn Hill, which was axed by the Mayor of London less than twelve months ago.

A solicitor representing the Mayor’s Office of Policing and Crime (MOPAC), which brought the case to London Central County Court, will deliver an interim possession order sometime this afternoon.

The squatters will then have just 24 hours to clear out of the former police station.

Last week, the squatters told the Ham&High they would serve the community like the officers who occupied the site before them.
