A 37-year-old from Highgate Village has been jailed after a man was shot at a wake for trying to break up a fight.
Michael Otshudi, of North Road, attended the wake with Joseph Smith, 27, and a group of unknown men just before midnight on May 13 last year at a community centre in Holloway.
But a fight broke out, and the 54-year-old victim was shot for trying to act as a peacemaker after another man was assaulted by the gang.
The group fled and the victim was taken to a south London hospital, where he was treated for serious injuries. He is still recovering from the attack.
Otshudi was arrested after police found DNA from blood outside Andover Community Centre. He was then identified in CCTV footage.
He pleaded guilty to violent disorder at an earlier hearing and was sentenced to 18 months in prison at Blackfriars Crown Court today.
Smith, of no fixed abode, admitted possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear, and violent disorder, at a previous hearing.

He was jailed today for four years.
Det Con Irfan Khalifa, of the police’s Trident and Area Crime Command, said: “The Metropolitan Police Service is committed to tackling gang and gun crime. This was a reckless act, resulting in serious injury to an innocent person.
“Trident Gang Command has today secured convictions against two individuals and now appeals to the public to help identify those yet to be brought to justice.”
Officers are still appealing for information on the man who they believed opened fire on the victim and other members of the group.
They have released CCTV images of men they would like to trace in connection with the shooting.
